The Full Interview Transcript
Jon: One of the things you'll find if you spend a lot of time looking around articles or websites about sex is that there's always lots and lots and lots of talk and lots of suggestions and lots of advice on sexual positions to most effectively maximize the sensation for both partners. I mean seriously, there are so many articles like this and so many things that come up.
One of the big things is that it's always trying to get the sensation right. Now, I think that it's amazing that now we're going talk about -- and we're going to talk with an inventor of a new product that actually can do that. Take some of those ideas about figuring out positions and sensations and maximum touch and has worked it into a product. I'd like to welcome Neil Maurette, who is the inventor of the vejuVe® Enhancer, to the line. Neil, how are you tonight?
Neil: Very well - very well, thanks, Jon. I very much appreciate being on your show.
Jon: Oh, hey, we like to talk to people and we love to talk to people who are making products that look like they're really going to make a difference for a lot of people and really affect people's sex lives in such a positive way. Just like in our last segment, the vejuVe® is such a unique a product. I haven't had a chance to try this one yet but I'm looking forward to it someday.
Neil: For sure.
Jon: It's such a unique product because it kind of moves into a realm that no one has really, that I've ever seen, done before on that it is a insertable that helps with a kind of penis and vagina, penis and vulva type sex, that helps guide the penis to better maximize touch with the clitoris and touch with the G-Spot.
Neil: That's correct. Yes.
Jon: It sounds like something -- like I was mentioning, I've read so many of these articles about positions and things. This sounds like it really helps to maximize that. The thing is though you are an engineer. Your wife's an engineer. You guys came up with this idea, so how does two engineers get into coming up with an idea for a sex toy?
Neil: Well, that's a great question Jon. It's really driven from our own personal experience. It was actually quite a few years ago that we were sitting, having a cup of coffee and I mustered up the nerve to ask, and I only say that because I didn't want it to come across in a negative way, but I just kind of asked my wife Christine if sex was the same now as it was before the kids, right? Intercourse, from an intercourse perspective and she looks over at me and she's got this puzzled look on her face and she goes, "It doesn't seem as though it feels as intense."
And so, both of us are engineers and we thought, "Well, you know what, maybe there's something we can do there," and kind of attack the problem and solve it. We ended up going out and picking up a number of different products like some cock rings, some girth enhancers, and so on and so forth. Those products are really fun and they're really exciting and nice to add to play time. We thought we could come up with something original and new, and something that basically acts like a push-up bra for the penis and pushes to penis into the clitoris and the G-Spot to enhance stimulation that way.
Jon: It's really kind of one of those ideas that's almost a forehead slapper like, "Woah, like come on now." But it also has a -- maybe couldn't have happened before because the materials might not have been there because you're also producing with super high-grade silicone which is just so amazing -
Neil: Yes.
Jon: - when it comes to sex. It makes such a difference in terms of products if you're using this really good material.
Neil: Yes, absolutely and we are. To note that specifically, we do bring in our materials up from the United States and we actually process them and the product is actually made in Canada.
Jon: Yes, right, yes. I forgot to mention this is a Canadian product, Canadian people's. We like our international audience, but we like to do a little thump-chesting here for people who are helping the sexy cause from Canuckland. So that's also nice to do. The product itself, it's a little hard to describe, so I'm going to say everyone should be heading over to the website, which is vejuVe.com because they've got amazing explanatory images and guides and videos and things there. But, could you just describe how the product -- what you're going to do when you're going to use it.
Neil: Sure. Basically, instead of like a conventional girth-enhancer, where fairly simple to use, just basically slides over the penis and then it essentially enhances the girth of the male. The vejuVe®, we took a different route with it, where we wanted something to be able to fit within the vagina and to hold itself in place within the vagina as well, which is another key feature. Often times, when you're changing positions, you don't want to have things that are falling out and so on and so forth, so it's nice and comfortable to not have to worry about that.
Basically, the vejuVe®, it's really -- one of the hurdles that we have with this product is the fact that, and we've done so many trade shows now, once people feel it and they realize that it's very, very soft and it's very pliable, all of a sudden it's like the light goes on. The natural shape of it is… it's a little bit wide, but then it curls up and then it gently inserts in to a vagina and then it gently uncurls within the vagina, just slightly, just enough to hold itself in position. So then when a penis does enter, the penis is actually getting pushed up into that clitoris and the G-Spot. When the penis is stroking back and forth, you're just getting that much more enhanced stimulation in those regions while at the same time, not covering the penis with any barriers whatsoever. It's actually a mutual pleasure product.
Jon: Right, yes, exactly, and that's kind of the key. I also just want to call back a little bit to what you said in the beginning of how you came up with this and how what such an important part of coupled sex, long-term coupled sex particularly, but for new folks to who are just getting together, the communication aspect and how the two of you came up with this product from a talk. It wasn't, you came up with this idea and presented it. She came up with this idea and presented it.
You were using it from your real life situation. Your real life situation informed the creation of the product, but it was because you were discussing your sex life together, and that's such an important key and can be such an important key for anyone who's considering purchasing one of these products, the vejuVe®. That kind of communication is a fantastic way to not only figure out what you both need obviously, but also figure out what is out there that you can find to incorporate.
Neil: Yes, and that's -- we've spoken to so many of our friends and I've read so many articles on this, communication is really key in any relationship. The vejuVe® is really not about anyone being deficient in any way, shape, or form, right?
Jon: Yes.
Neil: We never want to look at say a vagina being, not as snug as another vagina, right. Or a penis being, not as well endowed, as another penis. We basically just want to sit there and say, "Hey, you know what? If this is a mutual pleasure product, where it's going to enhance stimulation for both the penis and the vagina, then wouldn't that be nice?" Right?
Jon: Yes.
Neil: It's really not about anyone being deficient in size or shape in any which way. It's just more about the whole pleasure aspect of adding something that can actually enhance the stimulation.
Jon: Sure. That's a really important thing too that I think that the creator's of sex products now who, such as yourself -- and not to say that this was ever an intention in the past but the movement forward is really hoping to dispel the stigma around sex products as being some kind of replacement like, "This person wants a vibrator because they can't get off just with sex with their partner," or, "This partner's abilities are just not good enough." So sex toys are supposed to be a replacement for someone else. Not a replacement, they're a supplement.
Neil: Exactly.
Jon: They're something that is just there to help and there to aid, but it's not a replacement. I think I'm seeing now, just in the way that people are approaching, that this movement is starting. There is still a lot of things, lots of articles last week about men feeling inferior to vibrators, and that's still something that needs to get past for sure, but hopefully this movement is going forward that people are not looking at it as something you're replacing someone else. No, you're just adding to it. The party is just growing, that's pretty much just what it is in my mind.
Neil: It really is and it's about having that almost a maturity level to accept what somebody is wanting to enjoy. Like I would never want to deny my wife from having pleasurable sensations. I take the line of embracing those and then maybe looking at it from my perspective and saying, "Well, if she's enjoying herself more that actually is kind of pleasurable for me a well." It's all perspective. It's how you want to interpret things.
Jon: Indeed, indeed. Now we'll get a little more into the nitty gritty here. Now, the vejuVe® fits in. Are there better, more maximized ways or positions to use it in? Are there ones that are going to be like, "Okay, you've tried this. Now try this position," and you're just going to… potentially fireworks?
Neil: That's a great question and the thing is positions are very personal. Through my travels, I've learned this very much from sex educators, sex therapists and so on and so forth. What's really fantastic about the vejuVe®, the unique shape and design of it, allows couples to enjoy any position. It's really not restricted to any given, say just missionary or just doggy style. What it really does is it enhances the stimulations felt in every position.
Basically if you picture it, if a vagina likes to be in a doggy style position, all of a sudden you're adding more pressure and sensation to that clitoris and G spot and in the favorite position. Well, it adds in it of itself a new experience in that position which is enhanced. It really boils down to we wanted a product that could be enjoyed in any position and we wanted it to enhance that given position and the vejuVe® actually does that.
Jon: That's fantastic. It sounds like it's a really great thing to bring a lot of new sensations to people and a lot of closeness in a different type of way. It just sounds like it's a really positive thing to be bringing out into the market and really going to make some advances in the sex world just by its presence. Neil, I look forward to hearing more and hearing more of your successes with the product. Thank you very much for coming on the show tonight.
Neil: Absolutely, Jon. Thank you so much for having me on the show it’s been a real pleasure.
Jon: Remember everyone that is vejuVe.com, V-E-J-U-V-E.com. It retails for $89.95 US Dollars.
